This gorgeously designed art book showcases the exhibition A New Order, in which, the works of Kishio Suga and Karla Black has been combined for the first time.

The two are connected by their use of common materials to create sculptures of extraordinary beauty, intricacy, and originality that they make in response to particular spaces, despite the fact that they live and work on different sides of the globe and were unaware of each other's artistic output until this exhibition was planned.

Suga, one of the most innovative and thought-provoking artists working in the world today, has constructed a brand-new piece specifically for the show in addition to recreating some of his most well-known "situations," which are site-specific sculpture compositions.

One of the top modern artists in the nation, Karla Black, is well known for her abstract sculptures, many of which are made of fragile and transient materials. She displays brand-new sculptures for A New Order, the majority of which the artist created in the Gallery's rooms due to the size and materials used, such as cotton wool, paint, ribbon, cellophane, polythene, and eyeshadow.

A fuller understanding of the artists' work and the concepts underlying this exhibition can be gained via an interview with Karla Black and an essay written by Kishio Suga. The comprehensive photography of these ephemeral artworks is enhanced with artist biographies and a curatorial introduction, which together provide an important documentation of the exhibition.
